Having a garage is great as it allows you to store some of the items you own. There are a number of uses with any kind of garage, from storing the car, to keeping the garden tools together in one place. Although with this in mind, working out which garage you want for your home can take a fair bit of time. You need to establish what you intend to use the garage for, and this is where we can help. To assist you with this issue, we are going to look at the different garage designs and explain some of their potential uses.
Standard pent garage
If you just want a simple garage design to store the car, or as an additional room for storage space, then this design will be ideal for you. Normally flat roofed, in terms of structure, these garages come in single and double sized designs and you can choose from a range of stone walled patterns too. This allows you to match the garage up to the exterior of the house. Although these designs are simpler than the others on our list, they are ideal for the abovementioned options.Lean to garages
Another way to match and physically join the garage to the house is by opting for a lean to garage. These designs are built on the side of the house and as the name suggests they feature a leaning roof. Due to their size, they are more common in single variation form, although you can opt for double. If there is space at the end of the driveway then this is obviously an ideal location to build it as you can put the car straight in the garage when you return home. Again, in the case of this design you will be able to find a stone effect that matches up with your house so the garage looks like it was built at the same time as the rest of the property.Workshops
If you know that you want to get your garage designed as more of a workshop then you can request for a workshop/garage design to be built. This will save you the hassle of building a garage and then converting it at a later date. You can either replace the main larger door with a normal sized door, or alternatively add an additional door to the side of the structure. Either way, once you have confirmed your optional features and the work is complete, you will be left with a suitable workshop. With these designs you can request for them to be built at a certain size too. This option is ideal if you are doing woodwork or securing tools and equipment within the structure.Bespoke designs
If you would prefer to have more of a say in how your garage looks, or you know that you would need something a bit more elaborate than the traditional standard design, a bespoke garage would be perfect. Perhaps you want the garage to be designed in an L shape so that it joins onto the house, or maybe you need to store two larger vehicles inside. Whatever your reasons, if you know what you will be using the garage for you can get a quote for a suitable bespoke garage design.Think carefully about what you will be storing in the garage and then use the above list as a guide to help you come to a final decision.

ReplyDeleteGarages
This is a great idea for me to start looking into. I recently had my mother in law move in with us because her home was deemed unstable by the township. We just had to take down her barn and a couple of her farm sheds. I am going to bring some of these designs to the attention of my husband so we can start planning ways to get her belongings out of storage and back onto her property. Thanks for the motivation and the great idea that will hopefully get some of the stuff out my house.
